More on Sea Lemons

It was a very low tide this morning and I spotted this structure under the overhang. It took me some time to find out what it was. At first I thought it might be some kind of sponge. After searching on-line and in seashore guides I finally identified it as the egg-mass of a sea lemon. I found several examples amongst the rocks this morning. It is a wonderfully delicate flimsy structure.
Observations and photos from the sea-shore, countryside and villages around Largo Bay in the East Neuk of Fife, and from my small garden in Lundin Links. Occasional forays to other parts.

- Married. Semi-retired. I live in a village on the coast in the East Neuk of Fife. Interested in the flora and fauna of this lovely area, and recording my observations of wild-life at the shore, in the countryside, and in our garden. Also, a bit about the local area and some reviews of books, concerts, plays that I've enjoyed. Although, I hope to take photos of what I see, I am not an expert photographer, however, I hope that the photos will be a good record of my observations of the natural world in a small part of Scotland.
