Sleeping Eider Ducks

Two male eider ducks asleep on the Lower Largo Harbour slipway.
I tried not to disturb them as I took a photo but they must have heard the camera shutter and next moment they were off into the water joined by another that must have been round the corner.
There were more eider ducks swimming in the shelter of the harbour.
Observations and photos from the sea-shore, countryside and villages around Largo Bay in the East Neuk of Fife, and from my small garden in Lundin Links. Occasional forays to other parts.

- Largo observer
- Married. Semi-retired. I live in a village on the coast in the East Neuk of Fife. Interested in the flora and fauna of this lovely area, and recording my observations of wild-life at the shore, in the countryside, and in our garden. Also, a bit about the local area and some reviews of books, concerts, plays that I've enjoyed. Although, I hope to take photos of what I see, I am not an expert photographer, however, I hope that the photos will be a good record of my observations of the natural world in a small part of Scotland.
