Largo Baywatch: Spring Bulbs in the Massney Braes

Most of the snowdrops on the banks of the Massney Braes are almost over, but there were a few patches still flowering yesterday.

There are now numerous clumps of daffodils brightening up the braes. It was a windy day and they were 'fluttering and dancing in the breeze.'

A few bright blue patches of chinodoxa caught my eye,

Largo observer said...: Sorry, the origin of the name seems to have been lost in the mists of time. It's possible that it's derived from a surname e.g. Masseney or Le Masney. There is also an Emsdorf Street in the village which suggests a German connection, so wonder if Massney could also have a German derivation.; 16 May 2015 at 11:51
