Heron perched on a branch of a willow tree at the bridge over the Keil Burn in Lundin Links. It seemed quite unfazed by the constant stream of traffic just feet away on the road.

Observations and photos from the sea-shore, countryside and villages around Largo Bay in the East Neuk of Fife, and from my small garden in Lundin Links. Occasional forays to other parts.

hi there I was wondering if you have more info on this heron as I drive past here every day and its always there night or day and the house beside the tree has a heron on the door so I was wondering if maybe the people who live there feed it or do anything as I just though it was a random place for it to always be there.
I don't know about this particular heron, but there are a lot of herons in the local area. Have sometimes seen a heron on the other side of the bridge standing on the pipe that goes across the burn, maybe looking for mallard ducklings. Also quite often see a heron in Lower Largo harbour and on the rocky shore in Lundin Links.
