Springtime Brings New Life

A female mallard with her newly hatched ducklings. She had eleven altogether.
Eventually she settled down with all the ducklings safely tucked in underneath her.
In the mill yard at Acorn Bank a baby chick peeps out.
Saw lots of lambs in our recent trip to Cumbria, but these two caught my eye, sheltering in the ruins at Birdoswald Roman Fort.
Observations and photos from the sea-shore, countryside and villages around Largo Bay in the East Neuk of Fife, and from my small garden in Lundin Links. Occasional forays to other parts.

About Me
- Largo observer
- Married. Semi-retired. I live in a village on the coast in the East Neuk of Fife. Interested in the flora and fauna of this lovely area, and recording my observations of wild-life at the shore, in the countryside, and in our garden. Also, a bit about the local area and some reviews of books, concerts, plays that I've enjoyed. Although, I hope to take photos of what I see, I am not an expert photographer, however, I hope that the photos will be a good record of my observations of the natural world in a small part of Scotland.
