Musk Mallow and Tree Mallow

A very pretty patch of musk mallow (Malva moschata) just by the ruined salt pan houses about half a mile East of Lower Largo village.
Tree mallow (Malva arborea or Lavatera arborea) at the back of the Temple Car Park in Lower Largo. The flowers are similar to but less showy than those of the garden hollyhock, which is also a member of the mallow family of plants (malvaceae).
Observations and photos from the sea-shore, countryside and villages around Largo Bay in the East Neuk of Fife, and from my small garden in Lundin Links. Occasional forays to other parts.

About Me
- Largo observer
- Married. Semi-retired. I live in a village on the coast in the East Neuk of Fife. Interested in the flora and fauna of this lovely area, and recording my observations of wild-life at the shore, in the countryside, and in our garden. Also, a bit about the local area and some reviews of books, concerts, plays that I've enjoyed. Although, I hope to take photos of what I see, I am not an expert photographer, however, I hope that the photos will be a good record of my observations of the natural world in a small part of Scotland.
