Dunnollie Castle

Since there was time to kill before the ferry to Mull walked from the town towards Ganavan. Dunnollie Castle dominates the view. The ruined keep and the seat of the Clan MacDougall has been standing for around six hundred years.

Fingals Dog Stone.
Named after the legend that the ancient heroic warrior of Celtic mythology Fionn MacCumhail chained his massive dog Bran to the stone, with the chain wearing down the base. It's actually a raised sea stack of conglomerate rock that was eroded around 10,000 years ago, before the land rose in response to the removal of the weight of the ice sheet.
