Shaggy Ink Cap

Shaggy Ink Cap (Coprinus comatus) at the top of the Serpentine Walk, close to the gate to the main road. They were growing in exactly the same place as last year, but slightly later, mid-October rather than the end of September.
Day1 - Pure white rugby ball shaped.
Day 2 - The same group beginning to darken.
Day 3 - Any white colouring almost gone.
Day 4 - The cap base expands and dissolves into an inky fluid resulting in a small flat black cap on a long stem.
Day 5 - The original group of fungi nearly gone but a fresh white one has appeared.
